Coriolanus
Synopsis:
Caius Marcius is an unequalled warrior in battle and rewarded with
the title Coriolanus for his services to Rome. However, his arrogance
and unyielding nature eventually turn his once beloved citizens
against him, and he is banished. Raising a mighty army, Coriolanus
marches on Rome and brings it to the brink of absolute destruction.
But his family beg him to spare the city, and by agreeing, he condemns
himself to bloody murder.
The Merry Wifes of Windsor
Synopsis:
Sir John Falstaff, a knight down on both luck and cash, hatches
a scheme to raise funds. He will seduce Mistress Ford and Mistress
Page in an attempt to get at their husbands' money. Falstaff, however,
has overestimated his ingenuity; the two women compare their letters,
and—finding them identical—hatch a plan of their own
to make a buffoon of the knight. |
